Annual Gala

Each fall, the Spirit of Construction Foundation hosts a black-tie optional dinner and gala, known as the “Celebration of Construction Gala,” which celebrates the construction industry and recognizes individuals for their lifetime contributions to the industry and the civic, aesthetic, and economic well-being of the Greater Cincinnati region. At this event, the Spirit of Construction Foundation also recognizes college and military scholarship award recipients and education-based grant recipients. It is an event to remember!

The 28th Annual Gala is sold out!

The upcoming Gala will surely be an exciting night, and all for a great cause near and dear to our hearts — workforce education programs, advocacy, and professional guidance to bridge the trades gap in the construction industry right here in Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky.

We have a fun night planned with a great band — The New Royals — a great dance band from Atlanta, Georgia. And make sure to get your personalized painted trucker hats at the after-dinner party!

Let’s go all in and celebrate our 4 lifetime achievement award recipients and 2 posthumous honorees at the 28th annual Spirit of Construction Gala on October 19, 2024, at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. Dress is Black tie optional — styling gym shoes are encouraged. The event will have an upscale urban feel and will be a great night!

Invitations have been sent, and the event is officially sold out!

BTS doesn’t just focus on sneaker culture — they offer mentorship, youth-focused community initiatives, and workshops that encourage creativity and leadership. This shared vision of empowering young people to explore their potential aligns perfectly with our mission to bridge the gap in skilled trades through community-based programs, workforce education opportunities, and professional advocacy.

Join us in making a difference! After the 2024 Gala, donate your gently used sneakers to support BTS and their community initiatives. Drop off your shoes at Jostin Construction by October 25, 2024, and they’ll coordinate delivery to BTS.

Endowment

Spirit of Construction’s Endowment Fund, established to create income and long-term financial stability, demonstrates our commitment to the future of the construction industry. The Endowment is about permanence and sustainable stewardship, and serves as a bridge across generations, translating past successes into future opportunities.

Our Endowment helps fund our mission of promoting careers in construction by fostering the potential of young people, providing opportunities to people who live in underserved communities, and funding scholarships for students pursuing higher education related to the construction industry. This in turn helps to bridge the trade gap, which is vital to the industry and the community alike. We’re excited to help build a bright future for our industry.

The Endowment Fund is organized into four pillars — Outreach, Workforce Development, Scholarship, and the General Fund. Through these pillars, Spirit is attending to the future of our industry and paving the way for young people to gain hands-on experience and career opportunities in construction.

General Fund

The General Fund is used for general operational support. This is consistent with Spirit’s commitment to having staff make the volunteer board experience rewarding for high-level management executives since the board comprises top-level construction executives and select professionals from adjacent industries like law, accounting, and insurance.
