CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
SPIRIT OF CONSTRUCTION AWARDS
Dear foundation member and friend of the industry:
For the thirteenth consecutive year, The Spirit of
Construction Foundation of Greater Cincinnati, Inc.
will honor special people in construction at its annual
Celebration of Construction gala black-tie dinner.
The 2008 event will be Saturday, October 18, at the
Northern Kentucky Convention Center. (See events
page for details.)
At the dinner, the foundation will present Lifetime
Achievement Awards to selected industry leaders. The
awards are made each year to people who have demonstrated
leadership, accomplishment, and ethical behavior while
making significant contributions to the construction
industry and to our community. Past winners have come
from general contracting, specialty contracting, home
building, consulting, trade associations, and educational
organizations.
In 2007, the SOC board instituted a posthumous award
for persons who might have been recognized in their
lifetime, giving us two award categories—the Lifetime
Career Achievement Award for those who are
living (working or retired) and Posthumous
Lifetime Achievement Award, for those who
are deceased. Honorees for both awards are chosen
from nominations submitted by Spirit of Construction
Foundation members.
We invite you to submit nominations for these prestigious
awards. It is important to provide adequate information
for the selection committee. On the SOC Web site: www.spiritofconstruction.org.,
in the “Nominations” section, you can download
the proper nominating form and may view a completed
sample nomination. Your nomination must be
signed by a member of SOC. (Click the “Membership” button
on the Web site to view the current membership roster;
you can—of course—join SOC if you are not
a member.) If you have any questions after reviewing
the Web site, please feel free to contact us for assistance
and clarification.
All nominations must be received by 4 p.m. April
30, 2008. Honorees will be announced in
late May.
